Training Overview

This training is designed to equip participants with the skills and confidence needed to lead sound bath sessions. It combines experiential learning with live demonstrations, lectures, encouraging reflection and discussion, and hands-on practice enabling you to apply what you learn immediately.

  1. Sound healers/therapists interested in learning how to art of leading a sound baths.  

  2. Yoga teachers looking to add sound baths into their classes.  

  3. Wellness practitioners, bodyworkers, and massage therapists looking to work with groups and add sound baths to their offerings.

  4. Individuals that love sound baths and want to deepen their knowledge of sound healing.



What to expect

Over the course of 3 days, you will learn the skills and confidence needed to lead sound bath sessions. With combined experiential learning with live demonstrations, lectures, encouraging reflection and discussion, and hands-on practice enabling you to apply what you learn immediately.  The group will meet on Friday May 2nd at 5pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 4pm with plenty of breaks, and practice session


Outcome

  •  Learn how to lead sound baths with confidence.

  •  Learn how to play various instruments, including bowls and gongs, and understand their uses.

  •  Design classes tailored to the energy and intentions of the group.

  •  Develop leadership and community-building skills.

  • Gain a solid foundation in sound healing and meditation.


Expectation

To receive a certification of completion you will need to attend all 3 days, and have lead 10 sessions on your own after the 3 day training within 6 months.


We will have periodic online check-ins for support after the training. After each sound bath you lead, you will fill out a form that we will provide to help you  keep track of the sessions and log-in your experience and feedback from the classes you teach.


Set-up for sound bath you lead can be casual like for friends and family but we recommend leading a few formal ones to gain an overall experience in the field.


The certifications will be awarded vial mail or you can pick it up at Unwind.


Good to know:

We will provide all the instruments, such as gongs, sound bowls, Tibetan bowls, and more during the training so that you can practice. And a reader to take home. This enables you to explore various sound instruments, helping you discover what resonates uniquely with you before you buy your whole set.



What you need to get ready to take the training

  1. An open heart and open mind

  2. You need at least one sound bowl to practice, and you will have to purchase a complete set and other instruments after training to lead sound baths independently.

Training content

1. Introduction to Sound Healing 🎶

- A brief history of sound healing, meditation, and ceremonial practices.


2. How it all works ✍️

  • The science of sound: Vibration, resonance, entrainment, harmonics,  frequencies and noise.

  • Four levels of how sound affects us: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.

  • Differences between sound baths and sound healing.


3. How to design a class

  • Assessing/listening to the room and selecting appropriate instruments, length of session, and integration.

  • Leading a class: developing your teaching style and voice.

  • How to hold space for participants.

  • Navigating group dynamics and ensuring safety with trauma-informed practices.

  • Setting up your instruments according to the room with Feng Shui Principles.


4. Your Sound Bath Toolbox 

  • Techniques for playing various instruments such as singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, gongs, and tuning forks.

  • Utilizing your voice to guide the session through meditation: pace, breath, and speaking from the heart. 

  • Utilize your voice as a sound healing instrument with toning (long-sustaining sounds), chanting, mantra and singing (no prior singing experience required).


5. Meditation Basics

Introduction to meditation and how to combine sound healing into the practice.

  • Inner vs. outer world sounds

  • The 4 fold qualifications to begin a meditation practice.

  • Basic mechanics of the mind according to Yoga psychology & Sankya philosophy

  • How sounds induce meditation

  • The great silence of OM mantra


6. The Role of a Sound Bath Practitioner

  • Understanding the responsibilities and ethics as a sound Sound Bath Practitioner

  • Developing your sound healing practice.

  • Developing deep listening skills 

Your Instructor

Devi Mambouka

Devi Mambouka

Devi (pronounced Day-vee) is a trauma-informed occupational sound therapist, music producer, Reiki III practitioner, and vocalist. Since 2013, she’s been supporting her community, reduce stress, release tension, and find calm through Reiki and in 2017 she added sound healing, vibroacoustic therapy, vibrational therapy to her practice.
Devi has studied under renowned sound healing expert David Gibson. Earning degree in Sound and Vibrational Therapies at the Globe institute of Sound healing and vibration in San Fransisco, CA.
She’s also the creator of Vibrobath, a one-of-a-kind sound bath that blends technology, sound, bodywork and meditation to take relaxation to the next level. Rooted in both her Hindu Brahmin heritage and the indigenous traditions of Gabon, Devi’s approach bridges ancient wisdom with modern innovation, making sound healing more accessible and impactful.
She has also worked with memory care patients at Pinecrest, using sound to support cognitive function, emotional well-being, and bring joy.
Her work has been featured in Buzzfeed, Marie Claire Magazine, the cover of The Wire magazine, The New York Times, and on The Real Housewives of New York (Season 13).
She’s collaborated with top brands and spaces like Taboola, Casper, WeWork, The Ace Hotel, Soho House NY, and the Institute of Contemporary Arts London.
As an educator, Devi is passionate about sharing the power of sound and vibration, helping individuals and communities tap into deep relaxation, healing, and balance.
